CAMILLE J - “HOUSE OF BLUES”

DANITY KANE TOUR. 2018

Singer, dancer, entertainer, Camille J, was born on May 2nd, 1996. A New York native , born in Brooklyn and raised in Queens was given the best of both worlds. The epitome of a concrete rose, Camille J has overcome it all.  At the age of 4, she joined the local church choir and praise dance team where she found her passion and love for her craft. At that point her family knew that she was destined to be a star.

Growing up whether it be a family function, or state of the arts theatre, Camille J would put on a show! With aspirations to be a successful entertainer, she started dancing at the age of 4. With hard work, dedication and mastering the art of dancing, performing became second nature to this aspiring artist. Camille J allowed herself to transform into the butterfly she is today.

In the year 2006, Camille was presented with an amazing opportunity from the infamous choreographer “Hinton Battle”.  This opportunity allowed her to train with professional singers and dancers where then, they would perform at the premiere of the movie “Idlewild”. In addition to the Hinton experience, Camille J was interviewed by the legendary Patti Labelle as a young talented artist in the making. She soon started taking off in her career in dance, where she worked alongside artists Lil Mama and Ayo Jay and was featured in their music videos. She continued to progress her career and touched stages like MTV Awards, Summer Jam and Essence Fest with artists such as Travis Scott, Ashanti, Neyo, A boogie, Remy Ma and more. Her dance career climaxed when she got to perform in front of millions during the MTV awards, which she performed with Travis Scott. She has achieved this all while being a full-time single mom! #superpower

As her dance career was skyrocketing, Camille J realized that she wanted to be a multifaceted artist and tapped into her vocals. She was then presented with the opportunity to join a female R&B group by the name of Glo 96 in the year of 2018. GLo 96 released a single titled “Say Goodbye” which awarded them the opportunity to tour with the acclaimed “Danity Kane” . The upcoming R&B group traveled and performed in states throughout the east coast. Performing in well renowned theaters such as House of Blues, Paramount, Howard theater, SOB’s and many more, the group was exposed to greatness. After the group came to an end, Camille J propelled into her solo career. The drive she had during this part of her journey stemmed from the passing of her mother, Yvonne June Winston, at just the age of 13.

Inspired by the icons of the music industry, her greatest inspiration happens to be the late great Michael Jackson. Artists like Ciara, Beyonce, and Chris Brown as well as Anita Baker and Donna Summer, have also made a huge impact on her artistry. Most importantly she is inspired and motivated by her daughter, late great mother, and all those who believed in her God given talent. Her writing skills stem from actual experiences and obstacles that she has faced.

In April 2020 she released her first solo single “Temporary Love” which did very well with streaming. Her next single titled “Been That” ft. OG Kendraa, is the next song to be released. She has been working on a very special project with her daughter Cali, who's a hot commodity of her own. Their collaboration single is titled Sweetest Gift. All of which she will be debuting at. her concert. Oct. 25th. Camille J will be headlining at. the legendary SOB’s @ 7pm. purchase tickets on her website www.camillejmusic.com.
